Dear Friend / Supporter, To mark the Remembrance Anniversary of
the “judicial murder” of The Ogoni 9, MOSOP-UK cordially invites you to a
joint Remembrance Church Service: Venue: SAINT PANCRAS CHURCH, Euston Road, London NW1 (Junction of Upper Woburn Place and Euston Road. Nearest station - almost opposite Euston station,
Kings Cross & various buses) Date: Sunday 9th November 2003 Time: 10.00 a.m. Please remember it is now 8 years since
the bloodthirsty military junta of Sani Abacha hung Ken Saro Wiwa and his
eight colleagues for protesting against environmental devastation in
Ogoniland. The destruction of Ogoniland by the
multinational oil company Shell and the injustice meted on the Ogoni people
by the Nigerian Government still remains. The Niger Delta people of
Nigeria are still languishing in poverty, hunger and deprivation. They
are still politically marginalised and continue to live in a devastated and
environmentally degraded land. We, the Ogoni people will be obliged if
you would be kind enough to grace this remembrance day with your presence
thereby honouring the courage of our great leaders as well as lending
your support to the continuous demand for justice in Ogoniland and the Niger
Delta of Nigeria. For enquiries contact us on: Mrs Gbenewa Phido (07957 683 782) MOSOP-UK President Other Contacts: 44 020 8516 9074
