GUESS WHO’S MISSING BUSH’S INAUGURATION!

On January 20, 2001 an unfortunate historical event will take place in Washington DC, United States of America. That day, for the first time in the history of this great, blessed, economically and militarily powerful country, an un-elected president will take the oath of office. That same day, a judicial coup will force on more than 150million peoples of America, a president they never wanted. More than another one billion people from other parts of the world will start to learn and cope with the first American president of the century, nay, of the millennium who will have power without influence and credibility. That day, we will see a man sworn in as the president of the United States of America but who lost the popular mandate of his people but succeeded in stealing the presidency.

That day, we will see the face of a George W. Bush but with the heart of a Niccolo Machiavelli. I am so sure that George Bush in his now famous limited knowledge of general affairs does not know who Niccolo Machiavelli was. For the sake of information and a good knowledge of whom the world will have to live and deal with for the next four years, let us do a brief biography of Niccolo Miachiavelli? He was a great writer, politician and statesman of Florence (1469 – 1527). He was however not famous for his writing or political statesmanship. Niccolo was destitute of political morality. He was ruled only by political expediency. His conduct was in the high score in craftiness and perfidy. He has the record of the most cunning and unprincipled statesmanship. To Niccolo, the means is irrelevant as long as the end is achieved, hence the first thing a student of political history knows about him is that for Niccolo Machiavelli, the end justifies the means. Here lies the greatest similarity between our George W and Niccolo M., as long as our George W. becomes the president all means are fair and right, so like Niccolo, for George to be in the White House, the end justifies the means.

America to the credit of her past morally upright and democratic leaders have carved for that country a position of leadership for all other nations of the world, including the Bears of Russia and the Tigers of Asia. The Lions of Africa and the Foxes of Europe have no choice than to look up into the sky where the white headed American Eagle is souring high up above all other nations and whatever represents them. But these were times when American presidents came to office with the mandate of the American people freely given in free, fair, open and democratic elections, where the will of the people was supreme. It was when presidents put their hands on the Holy Bible to swear to an oath of office without their hearts praying for forgiveness of sins. Sins for cheating and stealing the peoples’ presidency or swearing falsely on oath, knowing in their hearts that they did not deserve the office they are been sworn in to defend.

It was when the will of the people as expressed during a free and fair election was truly supreme. It was when the people who believed that their votes count happily performed a sacred duty and their votes were indeed counted. It was not when and where the will of the people is openly robbed, bruised and brutalized by the same hands that are paid and expected to protect the people. It was when the Supreme Court, was occupied by men and women of good conscience and equity. It was when as we were taught in our first semester hour in elements of politics that the judiciary was the last hope of the common man. How fast time changes, some justices have lost their sense of justice and fairness to political expediency. Now is the time it seems, when their sense of justice have been so jaundicised not only by injustice or blind political partisanship but also by cheer greed and hyper-salivation to share in the spoils of office of their incoming benefactor.

Times they were in those good old days, when men of honor and integrity, probity and honesty occupied the citadel of world political power by the consent of their people. This was not by cheer cow-boyish bravado but because their people entrusted in their hands clear mandates to rule them both by popular votes and by Electoral College freely expressed even when the margin of victory was not significant. It was not when a family dynasty crudely and unashamedly but openly robbed the whole world of the joy and decorum of democracy. That was the America where Abraham Lincoln a noble and honorable republican taught the whole world that modest definition of democracy; "the government of the people by the people and for the people". They were not where and when they were un-elected but judicially selected by five people who misused and abused their office by setting aside the will of more than six million people of a state, just because of their vested bread and butter interests.

America has for long being the creator of military dictators especially in Africa. The fingers of the American C.I.A have always pulled the triggers that overthrew legitimate governments, which they labeled as "communist". Meaning, not dancing to the whims and caprices of America or not swallowing line, hook and sinker all the idiosyncrasies of American capitalism. They taught their African military puppets how to rule without the mandates of their own people and occupied the presidential villa at all cost. Remember the killing of Patrice Lumumba of Congo and the installation of the late tyrant Mobutu? The CIA was there. Remember the over throw of late Osayefo of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah? The CIA was there. What of Modibo Keita of Mali, they were there.

When they were not teaching the military juntas how to plan and execute coups, they were helping their civilian stooges to manipulate votes and falsify election results to either retain power or over throw constituted authorities. They taught the new breed dictators how to ignore the wishes of their own peoples. Guess what? George W. Bush Sr. was for a long time a top CIA agent in those perfidious missions to Africa. Now the chicken has come home to roast. It is therefore no wonder that it is a George W. Bush Jr., that first manipulates and falsifies votes and election results in America to get to the White House! What a true son of his father he is! Americans are just getting a small bite of the big measure some of their CIA operatives had given to other nations in the past and may be without the knowledge and consent of the good American peoples.

If the Bushes can manipulate the votes from Florida their back yard to get the office, can they manipulate the conscience of the American people and the whole world? I don’t really think so. My people say that if you want to find out how the night would be like, you better talk to the morning. If it is true that during the first post election visit of George Bush to Washington, where he plans to rule the world for next four years, he was stoned, called names, booed and jeered rather than cheered, that wasn’t a good morning. That might not be a good augury for a good night either. Another indicator of a bad night awaiting George Bush, America, nay, the world is the bad dawn of his administration. The composition or make up of the ‘president-select’s’ team is more scary than cheering. Pardon me for my use of words, I don’t see Bush as a president-elect that is why I will rather call him president-select. After all he was not elected but selected by five members of the Washington Supreme Court who are his father’s friends. Also tomorrow he can be called a president; that does not confer any legitimacy on him, after all a Babangida called himself president for eight years in Nigeria without a single vote. Any one who has taken time to check out the foreign affairs team of George Bush will know that he has selected veteran, intelligent and good policy makers from his father’s team. But you know what they are? A bunch of old dead woods that cannot kindle the fire of the 21^st century politics and economy. May be they were good and useful in the politics of the cold war days of his father as vice president and president but assuredly they are out of tune with the realities of the peaceful post cold war new millennium. Whatever successes they had achieved then are totally irrelevant in today’s world affairs.

The inauguration of the American elected president is usually peoples’ event. Observers, visitors and well wishers from all over the Americas and the world kept the date. This year’s January 20 date may be another cup of tea all together. News coming out of Washington DC are pointing or confirming the fact that because the American people did not elect George Bush, his inauguration may not be a people’s event after all. The inauguration venue, report says has been condoned off and wrapped in iron and steel. About five miles to the podium now looks like Kirikiri maximum prison in Lagos, Nigeria or the execution chamber in Texas, with walls as high as six to nine feet, weighted with concrete blocks. This has encircled the Lincoln Memorial and most of the National Mall. If only Abraham Lincoln can see the mockery of his defined democracy from his grave, his heart will ache for what he died defending. Never has Washington DC seen any thing near the type of security been mounted just because George Bush and his inauguration team’s conscience keep on reminding them, "we have stolen this presidency and may be the owners might want to lynch the thief that day. Look, we got to do something about this." The good news about this stolen presidency is that the last have been heard. Let deceit and treachery travels at jet speed for years, the truth will overtake it overnight. This is because evil can never overthrow good forever.

Informed sources close to Washington say that thousands of protesters are expected to march on Washington come January 20, to grace the Bush inauguration. That may be one of the reasons for building a fortified Capitol. I only hope military Tanks and armored vehicles will not be rolled out to guide the streets of DC that day or clamp down on democratic protesters, a la China Red Square. Are these really necessary? I learnt that a lot of interest groups will be there protesting on the streets, including those who does want Bush to set another record of being the greatest executioner-president at the federal level like he did at the state level in Texas.

Some body says that, this would be the first time such security cautions and precautions are being put in place just to swear-in an American president. I am not surprised, an African proverb says, whoever does what no one has ever done before, will see what no one has ever seen before and so it is with George Bush. Remember when God rejected the offering of Cain at the expense of the offering of his brother Abel? He became mad with God and God said to him, " Why are angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?" (Genesis 4: 6-7). If Bush has done what is right, will there be any need for such security measures in Washington DC? Absolutely not.

The greatest problem I have with George Bush is his claim to be a born-again Christian with Jesus Christ as his role model and Rev. Billy Graham the most respected American evangelist of our time as his godfather. I think he merely said that to win the sympathy and votes of Christians. Now that the elections are over, he must have changed his mind. Incidentally, the same Rev. Graham has graced and blessed the inauguration of eight American Presidents in the last 40years from the time of President J.F. Kennedy up to and including President William Jefferson Clinton. Will Rev. Billy Graham be present on January 20, 2001 to bless a stolen presidency? Rev. Graham is a true servant of the true living God who though loves sinners but hates the works of their hands. God, Graham and even my humble self still love George Bush but vehemently hate the way he made it to the Presidency. My humble suggestion to Rev. Billy Graham whom out of my personal love, honor and respect for him calls him ‘Baba’ that is Abba or father, is not to attend George Bush’s inauguration. Otherwise, it would be like blessing a thief and his loot.

Should George Bush put his hand on the Holy Bible to swear and say, "so help me God"? Honestly I don’t think so. To do that is to mock God and say after all, He doesn’t know or care about what happened. My Bible is so clear about this. No one can mock God, the all-seeing and all-knowing, He who creates the eye can He not sees all things? George, read 1John: 1:8-10 and personalize the passage like this: "If I claim to be without sin, I deceives myself and the truth is not in me. If I confess my sins, he is faith and just and will forgive me my sins and purify me from all my un-righteousness. If I claimed I have not sinned, I make him (God) out to be a liar and his word has no place in my life". George, I really love you with the love of God but hate the path you took to the White House. Until you really come out and openly confess to the American peoples, the wrongs you and your brother have done; that is, the despicable manipulation of the Florida’s election to suit your ambition; until you openly beg for the forgiveness of the American peoples you have cheated and the Almighty God you have sinned against; not only His words but also Himself will have no place in your life and in the life of your presidency. I hate to say this about you and your presidency, but that is the truth about the word of God; read 1John 1:10 again. Believe me when I say, no matter how many times you recite "so help me God’ He will never help you because you have lied before Him and falsely swore in His name.

Finally President – select George W. Bush, look out very carefully on January 20 2001, God will be missing at your inauguration.
