Issuance of Nigerian passports

I read with dismay the advertised price for re-issuance of Nigerian Passport. It is interesting to read that it will now cost $350.00 to re-issue a lost Nigerian Passport. Do Nigerian Government really mean $350 or N=350 (Three Hundred and Fifty Naira). You would agree with me that U.S. Dollar has not lost value to the extend that we now have to obtain a Nigerian Passport for the price advertised on the New York consulate-general web site.

This inordinate cost might have been necessitated by the fact that Nigerian Government have lost direction in all respect. Why does Nigerian Government have multiple web sites in U.S. (Consular-General, New York, Consular-General, Atlanta, Nigerian-Government, Washington-DC., et al) Do they all represent different Nations or why can't they safe the country the cost of this duplication? Do the Government have to pass the cost of her unnecessary duplication and wastage to hard working Nigerians in the United States? I hope the intention is not to "deregulate" the issuance of Nigerian Passport.

Can the Government justify this penalty for loss of Passport? What does it cost to print and airlift passport from Nigeria to the United States? It is not a crime to misplace a passport. Why then is this unjustifiable penalty or do they intend to exile Nigerians in the United States?

It is my submission that the advertised price is unjust and unfair. I demand that the Government review this penalty and come up with a fair price.
