THE NEW WORLD ORDER - FREEZING AFRICA TO DEATH

The powers leading the world presently are United States of America, Great Britain and France, these world powers hold the destiny of our world by omission or commission, and these powers in addition to their constitution emphasized human right and human freedom as the corner stone of their greatness. The British have the English Bill of Rights(1689), The French Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen(1789), The United States of America have the Bill of Rights(1791) and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations(1948). Does human Rights for Africans protected under these great and powerful documents?. My focus is on five issues that needs attention if
Africa will ever be great – Corruption, trade and business in Africa, Africa’s foreign and domestic debt, Two African giants (Nigeria and South Africa) and the mockery of suffering in Africa.

When I was growing up in Enugu in Nigeria, I used to hear about the phrase “The New World Order” and frankly during my elementary school and secondary school days I did not know what these words meant, but one of my teachers explained it in rather simplistic way as an American and British initiative under the cover of Western Europe and NATO during their struggle with the former Soviet Union for supremacy and who will actually be the only super power. The American and British deserving of their effort are actually better in terms of organization and sophistication
than the former soviet Union. The theme of this “New world order” was to improve human right in the world, open market, free market, bringing together nations under one rule – like the European Union, North American Free Trade Zone (NAFTA), WTO, globalization and New membership into NATO by weakening and breaking apart former Soviet republic, so that the world will be more secured so I was made to understand.

Now this new world order has extended its reach into other fronts to lead the world by using organizations and strategies to have a one world order lead by America and Britain by using the United nations, World Bank , WHO, International court of Justice in Hague, opening up the Asian market , World Democracy, military and security control of the Asia Pacific Zone, security and democracy in the middle East, democracy in Africa, NAFTA , NEPAD and Democracy in South America.

This new world order has also gone further by bringing the world’s financial and commercial transactions under direct control of American and European Banking system in New York and London. One has to give the Americans and the British credit again for these long term strategies and goals, because before the world could wake-up from their sleep the game was over and reaction and resistance followed, but it is too late for they have consolidated their reach and power. The war on terrorism is just the final phase of this long term strategy to control the world under the “new world order” and I see victory for the American and British side and we hope it will make the world a better place- hope so.

CORRUPT LEADERSHIP IN AFRICA

This brings me to the situation in Africa and how African leaders both past and present have not been able to read these international new world order strategies, and see where the world is heading to. Most countries in Asia, South America and Middle East read the hand writing on the walls and they took advantage of these modern realities of the power equation in the world and they have benefited economically, socially and have advanced tremendously , countries like India, Phillipine, Brazil, Jordan, Tunisia, Mexico, Malaysia, Singapore, Kuwait, Dubai, Egypt, Thailand, China, Korea, Japan etc.

In Africa our leaders are all reactionary leaders- “after the fact leaders”. pepper soup joints leaders whose only way of reading the “new world order” is by corruption and stealing of the resources of their people and transferring it to the safe European and American banks. Their reactionary effort sometimes can be seen in their misguided affront to common sense like President Mugabe of Zimbabwe stubborn hold to power, Charles Taylor myopic reasoning of self
importance, Nigerian leaders boastful and shortsighted ego trip, Governor Yerima of Zamfara State and Governor Sherekau of Kano Sate in Nigeria resisting of polio shot vaccination on the population fearing western conspiracy on the health of their people, as if they care for their people in the first place. The question is how many State Government officials have stolen from their people in Kano and Zamfara States, the same people they are playing their fake ego trip on. What is their record in helping the people in education, health, development and the answer is zero
for as long as they have been in power.—Shame indeed.

AFRICA CONTRIBUTION IN TRADE AND COMMERCE IN THE WORLD

According to the world bank, the whole of Africa is under siege to the point of collapse in all measures in education, health (HIV/AIDS), lack infrastructure, lack of coordinated effort to break out of hopelessness. In the world of international business, commerce and trade the whole of Africa only contribute or participate in about 5%( five
percent) of world business, industry, manufacturing and service; South Africa claims 3 percent of that. That’s shamefully very low for a population of about 800 million people in the whole of Africa. The United States/North America contribution in trade and business in the whole world is about 35 percent, European Union About 25 percent, Asia about 20 percent and growing and the rest 15 percent. The whole of Africa claims only 5% percent and the future looks bleak as ever, because no improvement in all measure of development in education, health and infrastructure development. The whole of Africa’s Foreign and domestic debt of 300 Billion Dollars is less than the
debt of 24 American corporation debt of 800 Billion Dollars put together that was incurred. They filed for Bankruptcy and filed for Chapter 11 protection, and these American corporation debts have been forgiven or written off. Why not the same for Africa’s 800 million people and their 300 Billion Dollars dubious and fabricated debt. It does not matter
whether it is a black cobra snake or white cobra snake, they all are poisonous and can kill. African corruption and wickedness and Western corruption and wickedness is killing the 800 million Africans as fast as it can get under this new world order.

AFRICA’S CRUSHING FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC DEBT

In the world Bank report- The whole of Africa has a debt of 300 Billion (Three Hundred Billion dollars) and the total net worth of all of Africa and its GDP in dollars terms is 500 Billion Dollars (Five Hundred Billion Dollars) and yet no body cares about the burden these debts is having on the African people. The burden and corruption these debt and lack of accountability has placed on the continent is crushing. The Anti corruption efforts, bankruptcy and Chapter 11 prosecution in London, New York, Washington and the Western nations swift law enforcement, prison terms and restitution/payback is surprisingly fast, but in Africa no body even the Western nations do not care to mitigate and enforce laws to help African recover 80 percent of these monies and resources stored in Western banks and safe
houses in Europe, America and Asia. Africans need these same standards that is used to fight corruption in New york, Washington, Paris and London etc.

An official report by Bankruptcydata.com, released records of largest debts and bankruptcies in America since 1980, reported that Twenty four (24) companies/corporations worth 800 Billion Dollars in the United of America from 1980s have gone under and money disappeared- see chart below- and have all filed for bankruptcy and chapter 11 protection, because of bad debt incur due to fraud, bad investment, corporate corruption and embezzlement, and yet the system was able to hold people accountable and punished them by sending the powerful to jail and
restitution paid back .The bankruptcies, embezzlement of these 24 corporations in America is worth about 800
Billion dollars(Eight hundred Billion dollars) See chart below. These debts and bankruptcies have been written off, refinanced, re-capitalized, reevaluated and credited, chapter 11 protection, and these companies have been cleaned and restructured reducing the human suffering of the American ordinary people and that’s capitalism with human face. Recent examples of WorldCom communications and Enron Corporation is case in point where for both companies with about 170 Billion Dollars(One Hundred and Seventy Billion Dollars ) worth of debt and Bankruptcy were
forgiven overnight, and yes some people have gone to jail and paid back some money. But these companies are now functioning as new and vibrant companies with brighter future because their burden and debt burden have been forgiven. All these are done in the interest of these companies and countries. Another example is with the recent European problem with the Italian company PARMALAT filing for bankruptcy, because of fraud and embezzlement, and now Parmalat debt is in Bankruptcy protection and re capitalization. Parmalat is back in business right now in no time with a lean and new look and still operating.

In African case, a whole continent with debt incur due to the same corrupt practices as in the Western world and developed nation have left the population and people prostrate and hopeless for decades since the 1980s. Where is the New world order when Children in Africa cannot go to school, or if they do majority are crammed more than 50 pupils in a classroom made for 20 pupils? Where is the new world order where HIV/AIDS has ravaged Africa, and all the promise of help and money have not made it to the common people and yet there are means to it? Where is the new world order were corruption and cronyism cannot be fought the same way it is fought in Washington, New york or
London,. Where is the new world order where a population of 800 million people have been so traumatized by the international power struggle that the 21st century seems like 10th century ago to 70 percent of Africans. We all have to make these noise and shout loud because what is happening in Africa is inhuman and ungodly. It is animal kingdom down there and of course most Africans and their leaders do not know what is happening coupled with their ego tripping-Pity.

TWO AFRICAN GIANTS(Nigeria and South Africa

Africa’s two leading countries are in crisis already Nigeria and South Africa, Nigeria with its new found democracy cannot manage its resources and breeds corruption that creates a devastating influence around the whole region, and South Africa with the new black power in place is losing grip and touch with the infrastructure and modern development left behind by the whites, because the Africans do not possess the bility to sustain the growth left behind by whites, as such corruption, favoritism, political influences that refuses to create a marshal plan to educate and empower them with skills in science and technology; that is relevant for the blacks and to bring them up
to date to modernity and ability to sustain and manage South Africa growth left by the whites, thereby by extension help to improve the surrounding countries.

What is happening in South Africa as well as all over Africa now is growth of gangsters, corruption and favoritism that is weakening the region and its ability to lead, and to stop the craziness that is happening in Zimbabwe, Angola, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, etc and in West Africa Nigeria’s craziness and corruption and bad influence breeding in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Togo and all over Africa like in Sudan, Somali, Burundi, etc

HIV/AIDS is another factor that is making nonsense of the new world order, because lips service is being paid to this new threat to our survival and the two leading countries in Africa are under threat, according to the world health Organization(WHO), one in five South African has HIV/AIDS out of a population of 30 million people. In Nigeria the
situation of HIV/AIDS infection is breaking out dangerously while our President is trying to buy a Private JET . According to Nigerian Venerable Disease Association (NVDA) meeting held in Ilorin Kwara State this week and reported by Thiday Newspaper of February 26, 2004 the association reported that about 8 million Nigerians have HIV/AIDS, and some report put it that at least 10 million Nigerians have HIV/AIDS now. When you look at it critically which means that about one in 12 Nigerians have HIV/AIDS in a population of 120 million people, that’s devastating information,
because the corrupt system has no effective and honest means for the welfare of its people until it is too late. HIV/AIDS is being control in all parts of the world effectively with drugs and public education but not in Africa.

MOCKING SUFFERING IN AFRICA.

These days whenever Africa issue or problems is being address any Where in the world either in a conferences or in meetings, dancing, merry making, so call cultural shows, arts exhibition and displays will take over and our problem will be reduced to dancing, merry making and partying while no dent is made to solve our problem. Whether it is President Nelson Mandela dancing with Oprah Winfrey and Sunny Bono on HIV/AIDS concert in South Africa, or President Clinton dancing with Children in Ghana, or President Obasanjo “Singing we shall over come” with Reverend Jesse Jackson preaching in Churches, Or Michael Jackson and all the Celebrities in Music and sports dancing all
over Africa and the world . We are tired of trivializing and mimicking Africa’s problem as a dancing and merry making matter. Take these problems seriously just as a conference was organized for Iraqi and Afghanistan reconstruction effort and debt forgiveness for Iraqi. In just two weeks trip all over the world , by former Secretary of State James Baker did for Iraqi debt forgiveness plea and result was seen within two weeks, Argentina debt, restructuring,
Mexico’s debt forgiveness, Malaysia debt restructure, Brazil debt restructuring etc, and result was seen within two years, thats how we want Africa’s problem to be taken seriously, and not clouded with dancing and merry making like happens all over Africa or anywhere our issue is on the table and no result and no debt forgiveness for Africa.

We can all emulate Microsoft Founder Mr./Mrs Bill Gates and their genuine and serious efforts shy of publicity in Africa for long, confronting the problems in normal manner by donating and working with people and organization in Africa and around the world without celebrity or dancing and merry making for public shows. let action speak loud and not dancing and television fan fare on helping Africa. Also, we can emulate Senate Majority leader Bill Frist and
some members of congress, who has been working by visiting Africa and learning about the problem of HIV/AIDS as a security issue without fanfare.

Whatever we call it, Globalization, New world order, WTO, Re-engineering of the world, let human suffering and human conscience be taken into consideration, because whatever we call it, if almost 80 percent of Africans do not benefit from globalization or the new world order and make decent living just like other people in the world, then it means nothing to us, then 10th century should be our new classification instead of 21st century, because the hopelessness of 80 percent Africans and crushing poverty of the mind and material poverty is disturbing; when in reality it is globalization and the new world order that is to blame for half of the problems in Africa.
