To Laugh or to Cry...

Life situations have taught me varying lessons and how to react and accommodate them when they come unexpectedly. Life has also inculcated in me the strange philosophy that wonders will never end no matter how we try. During this diverse and uncomplimentary sequence of events, I choose to either laugh or cry.

The other logical option that appears to be in between these two is to get angry. Somehow on this occasion, I refuse to be provoked to anger. No, not because of the little and feeble mind of Abacha's puppet number two man, Oladipo Diya. He doesn't deserve it and I can only laugh at his false testimonies. Nothing else... Oladipo Diya is a man who exploited military barbarism to a great extend and reveled in the dubious romance with the late Head of State - General Sani Abacha. He forgot that whoever rides on the back of a tiger to oppress the innocent and just, eventually ends up in the belly of the tiger because when the tiger has eaten up everything else it will also throw down the rider and devour him.

This same coward of a general is now apportioning blames of terrible Abacha regime on his master and Al Mustapha when faced with inevitable questions about his role as Chief of General Staff at the Human Right Violation Investigation Commission. His serpentine wisdom stinks of absolute filth and his "born again" blabbing nothing less than a fallacy if not a comedy for fools. He claims not be involved in the coup plot that had him implicated and even though he might not have been the originator of the cook up, but for the mere fact that his secretary typed the coup speech which he read through, legally makes him a coupist.

I shall continue to be amazed by this lawyer who cannot simply exhibit intelligence and most at times common sense whenever he faces the press over his contributions in that encounter. The man just likes to reap from where he did not sow and his military alertness is nothing but sinusoidal. He jumps at every opportunity that seems juicy without a second thought and could even sell his mother for power if possible (apologies to Mohammed Al Fayed). It was this same attitude of his that prompted General Bamayi(rtd) who is also standing trial for his atrocities to label Diya as a General who lacks courage and intelligence. I concur to that without doubt.

The retired General seems to have a short memory about his exploits during the June 12 anecdote and in his usual cocky style now states that he stands by June 12 and not on June 12. What logic? What does he mean by standing by and not standing on? Mr. Oladipo Diya, this kind of reasoning is totally unacceptable and too much of garbage for my digestion. You have all of a sudden forgotten your endless lobbies with the Obas and other political clowns like Jakande, Babatope and Onaguruwa to be part of the Interim and Abacha Administrations.

You never believed in June 12 even though your position as number two citizen of Nigeria was at the expense of June 12 in order to placate your fellow Yoruba kinsmen over the annulment of Abiola's presidency. You are a born liar and your latest true confessions attest to this fact. You had repeatedly told the Human Rights Violation Commission that you never wept before General Abacha.

Twice you said this but when Mr. Y.C.Maikyan (Counsel to Gen Bamaiyi) produced the videotapes of your shameful tears before the panel and audience, you now accepted to have cried like a baby that your master (Abacha) had to give you tissues to clean your spurious face. You had to defend yourself with a silly analogy that after all Jesus wept. May God have mercy on you for comparing the Son of the Most High with your mortal and carnal self?

Did my saviour weep for the devil or did he weep for sinners like you? Now you are crucifying Abdulkarim Adisa for kneeling down and begging Al Mustapha when you are in no way a better person. I can only classify you amongst the likes of Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi, Abdukarim Adisa and Dr. Olu Onaguruwa because masculinity is an abstract to your likes and is certainly missing in your biological or psychological jigsaw puzzle.

As far as I am concerned, you are a disgrace to the military and I don't understand why Uncle Sege restored the General title to you in the first place. I just wished I could forestall that from taking place because you should only be a foot soldier or a Lawyer who would never win one single case with your elementary resistance.

I can only laugh to your arguments and amusements while I choose to cry instead for Ken Saro-Wiwa, Chief Alfred Rewane and Dele Giwa.
