IN THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH " Real wisdom is the property of God ….The wisest of you men is he who has realised, like Socrates, that in respect of wisdom he is worthless …. Human wisdom has little or no value…. It is (real) wisdom that makes possible courage And self-control and integrity or, In a word, true goodness…" Socrates, 399 BC.2

FOREWORD The publication of In The Spirit Of Truth series was dictated by the responses gathered with respect to the book, Nigeria on Fire. The backwardness of Nigerians to intellectual matters was glaringly revealed by the inability of the so-called educated elites to find any time for reading and studying. The pursuit of day-to-day survival needs has taken over the people’s life completely. We are indeed living and thinking for only and only one thing - our bellies. It is sad but it is true that our stomachs have taken over our lives. In order to stimulate and encourage the interest of all seekers of truth to read these important materials, the publisher decided to break the ‘small’ book into booklets.
This booklet, To Your Tents O! Nigerians, tries to draw out the true reality of Nigeria as a nation and to help the reader to appreciate that the problem of Nigeria at the time of writing was greater than what Abdusalami Abubakar, the then incumbent Head of State, or any khaki wearing nonentities in Nigeria, could tackle. It attempts to show that the problems have gone beyond the stage of a cosmetic patch-up arrangement where the status quo would remain or can continue unscathed. This booklet invites all literate Nigerians to reason and to venture out once in their lives into the terrain of rational living human beings. It challenges Nigerians to show for once in their lives that there is something in that mass of flesh they carry about as brains. The booklet did a snappy survey of all the core institutions in place at the moment. It tries to speculate whether any of them has still got any life in it and whether it can be trusted to deliver Nigeria to the biblical Promised Land flowing with milk and honey. This booklet seeks to challenge and to encourage the reader to arrive at his/her own conclusions.
The summary and conclusion in this booklet has again offered some extra-ordinary insights into the future trend of Nigeria. These unprecedented revelations, again, tally closely with the conclusions found in The End Of The End particularly as it concerns the geo-political arrangement of civil administration in Nigeria. These insights call for deep and rigorous reflection in the length and breadth of this country. They are burning materials that no seeker and searcher of truth can afford to take lightly. It is not whether they are true or not true but it is a question of finding yourself being left behind if you decided to be lukewarm about the revelations. The message is, think but seek the wisdom that comes from God for this all-essential natural activity that qualifies you to be called a human being.
