TRIBUTE TO CHUBA OKADIGBO

By

Dr. Uchenna Dike

Kiev, Ukraine.

Oh! Damn.

Damn! They said it was real gas

Administered by these assassins

Like the Nazi’s, poisonous and evil

Conceived only by the known devil

Okadigbo became their enemy

Moving away with full energy

Just like Harry Marshal did

Just as Ogbonnaya Uche did

Yes! They would never let go

‘Cause they abhor good to forgo

Efforts aimed to rudely cajole

Fighters of good conscience and justice

Death! Can it ever be a triumph?

Forgetting that theirs may be rough

Karma’s law, awaits to the call

For those that think it is all

Attend and bid them farewell

Return to your abode unwell

Morality has become a vanity

On God’s Day there will be sanity

Approach and fake your tears

Back home remain in your fears

You may hide but it will be hard

The Almighty has seen your hand

You said he was too flamboyant

Unreasonable excuse for your bayonet

Killers always have streams of blood

That cannot be wiped merely by flood

Return to your ancestors Oyi

Their demise is a fait accompli

Their evils to cover are too many

They are at the end of their journey

Wail for Chuba Okadigbo

Weep and console Ndiigbo

Let fat be fed these hyena

The loss is enormous to Nigeria

To all he was not a stranger

To many he was not a danger

He played politics with a style

Peculiar to Colossus of his type

It was handshake across the Niger

It was handshake across the Benue

He was well at home in the Delta

It was handshake across the Sahara

They will walk and miss their step

The Oyi will have everlasting sleep

They will go for an urgent divination

Okadigbo will be on his reincarnation

Now they will slip with eyes open

The spirits will chase them more often

These perpetrators of evils at hand

And desecrators of our Holy Land

Children have become fatherless

Because you just resent fairness

Plant your life forever on earth

Next will be your date with death.

Adieu! Chuba Okadigbo.

Adieu! Oyi of Oyi.

May the Almighty,

Grant you eternal rest.
