TRIPS BY NIGERIA’S GOVT. OFFICIALS By
President Olusegun Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo, a Yoruba proverb says “ Agba ki wa loja, ki ori omo tuntun wo” translated “ The elder does not stay around to see things go wrong” This is not the case with Nigeria, and the so-called fighters of democracy that are representing themselves in the government of my beloved country, Nigeria. The elders are on the wrong track, so also are the followers. Couple of months ago, I wrote about Nigeria forgetting about the debt relief and pay up. Some people might have read this and said this dude does not know what he’s talking about. But by the time you finish reading my lines, you will agree with me. First, it was my honorable Presido, budgeting for a stadium in Abuja, buying jets to do more traveling, even his Senators wants theirs and some gigantic projects that would not be finished in their lifetime. What’s wrong with fixing what we have? Why do they always make policies that only affect their well being? Alaremu has traveled so much in the last two years. It’s now the turn of the governors, senators, legislators, local government chairman, commissioners, their wives and children, servants and drivers. My people when is it going to be your turn. If the wives of office holders in Ekiti state can spend 50 million Naira and Ondo states legislators 100 million Naira on foreign trips. At whose expense? Suffering masses of Nigeria. My self-centered folks in government, you should be ashamed of yourselves. If you know how to award so much money to foreign trips, it just shows your insensitivity to the people you’re all suppose to be serving, not that you do not know what to do to help the situation of the masses that put you in power, you just DON’T CARE. What knowledge do you want to get in Europe? You guys are not worthy to be in government. You are all stealing from the citizens of Nigeria and rubbing it in their faces. Remember “everyday belongs to the thief, a day belongs to the rightful owner. No wonder the armed robbers now focus on the people in government, for they are all sitting on dollar / sterling starched chairs in their homes. They can not even protect themselves with the stolen money. How in the world would they protect the citizens from whom they are stealing from. Nigerians, before you complain about these low lives, check out what they are doing to themselves and their families. This is a lesson for all of us, think before you vote for these people in the next election. Don’t let no one give you handouts for vote. This is your opportunity, you lose it and you stuck till 2007. Now is the time to make the change, you might be stuck for life. Think about it. They are not doing you a favor. It’s your money. Presido, call your associates to order “ Enough word is good for the wise” and as I said in my last writing, if you read it, “ The foreign governments that you are running to for debt forgiveness knows how wasteful we are with resources. We have the fund Nigeria, pay up” I know, you know and they know it too. Till I write again, hopefully on good stuff Yours truly, Bola Osinuga, N.Y, USA
