Tutor!

The pride of every tutor is to witness the great heights attained by his students. Often time’s professors in various fields of study encourage their students to strive to attain higher medals. America, the world’s tutor in democracy has failed to nurture its political students. The Prof. failed his students. America, the world largest exporter of democracy, has failed in it recent election. 

Any student of history, versed in the evolution of the American dream will appreciate what freedom and democracy means to the American people. Only in a nation where freedom of expression or opinion and association, where democracy is allowed to thrive, will a president survive impeachment on account of a sex scandal. Were a Monica Lewinsky story to play itself out in these parts, the woman in question will be celebrated as having dated the president. Here, mistresses of those in power enjoy perks of office just like the wives. 

To prove that its society is civilized and morally responsible, the American public took its president on and he apologized. What a society! Much as America as a nation cannot claim to be in the vanguard to champion moral crusade, it has prided itself as the world’s exporter of democracy. Unfortunately, events at its recent election, leaves a sour taste in the mouth. A case of the policeman being accused of stealing. 

Suddenly, the loopholes of the foolproof American style democracy was exposed. The entire world, watched helplessly as its political and economic leader failed to produce a president in an election. These are obvious pointers that something fundamental is wrong with the formulation of Americas policy as regards election. 

Or like the Late Afro beat King Fela Anikulapo said, teachers don’t teach me nonsense. Or is there a code yet undeciphered in the manuals handed down by Americas founding fathers?
