We will win

“A new wholesome reality is already fully formed, awaiting to be born, the question is not whether it will arrive, but whether we can lessen its birth pangs”.  —Professor Claude Ake.

A couple of weeks ago, during a stately reception organised in his distinguished honour by the now firmly rooted and rapidly spreading South-South Rainbow Coalition (SSRC) in the ancient city of Agbor, Olorogun Great Ogboru, popularly called General (not just for his unparalleled generosity) by his friends and teeming ardent followers and admirers, promised to cruise into Asaba by 2003 in a God-ordained style that will, once again, quake the socio-political archives of this nation. This great man boldly asserts that he has a divine appointment, commission and binding contract with his dear people. He speaks of positive change, unequivocal victory and fervently sympathises with the yearnings of the blessed land for serious legacies; not transients. Even the air around this reinvigorated sage views any "mad, bad and dangerous" leadership with which this shinning light co-ordinates and propels the leadership and the entire organ of the SSRC underscores his sincere conviction and readiness for a complete reversal of ugly trends, first, in the richest state of this geo-political fiction called Nigeria. The general is a "possessor of a wondrous power". Whatever readiness means therefore, as much as it falls within the creed of honour, dignity and forceful advancement of the true essence of humanity, there is no doubt that he is abundantly equipped for the fight with the ‘son’ of Abacha, the feudal banks owners and their surrogates.

The Agbor declaration, having been long over-due, has made Delta a beehive of political activities and serious scheming. While those who pity the True Story of Delta State believe Great Ogboru is "a man of success who can create wealth for everyone", like Italy’s Silvio Berlusconi, there also exists an already dwindling opposition. Within this opposition are men of immense honour and integrity gently re-orienting their conscience towards sincerity and reality. They know and also boldly admit that the Obeche cannot occupy the position of the iroko in critical re-building plans. They are not just contractors and opportunist businessmen without hindsight into the "blessed realm". Their maturity rings bells on the urgent seriousness to truly make our dear state a shinning model in the African continent. Their principled romance with the Ogboru Agenda is strategic approval of the immense resourcefulness, courage, truth, holiness, and of course, undistorted history of this innate desire to serve, serve rightly and serve well.

Within the opposition are some falsely tigerish mistakes being trained and retained by the "spymaster". The alpha and omega of their curriculum is how to constantly lay claim to the monopoly of political violence- the internalised trademark of its demagogic feuher. Having been thoroughly schooled in the fullest sadism of Abacha, this unrepentant son of the Kano monster is now destroying our jobless youths. These innocent ones are deceived that they will ‘make’ wealth just like he did under Abacha. The same gullibility with which he presumed the immortality of his well-loved master is presently wrapped all over these great personalities with a locked future. He would love to re-launch his father’s old pet project, Vision 2010 (sorry Vision 20 forever) here, but he is handicapped by the nobility of dear democracy. He would love our vibrant Odiri to thread the same sorrowful path he encouraged our slain sage, Pa Alfred Rewane to pass through, but the living forces of sweet democracy are denying him. Democracy struggle with him early in the year in his hometown but the Two-million-man-March apostle and sadist brutally subdued the beauty of proper governance. His personal security operatives, obviously acting the totality of a well-rehearsed brief, killed Iroro and his fellow heroes in a cruel fashion reminiscent of the notorious Tianamen Square massacre of 1989. This innate murderous tendency in him obeys and astonishingly increasing geometric progression that must be truncated. God has not equipped us with the tools to act any less. We will win.

It is in the interest of his native captives to ask themselves this simple sincere question: when my master leaves office (as designated by God) what becomes of the future? The peanuts of today are baits to sink them, their future and very importantly also, the state into an irreparable abyss after 2003. The hibernating totality of the dictator in the Abacha’s stooge is expected to assume manifestation after 2003. The feudal bank owners and their pitiful, shameless likes would have lost relevance. Their support will no longer be solicited. Reason: No third term. We will win with Obgoru.

It is quite clear that Ogboru’s followers, as a matter of principle, will obliterate any trace of evil, deception, ineptitude, thievery, and injustice, the hallmarks of Abachaism, acquired by his son, out of Delta. It agonizes them when imagined that this cruelty of no mean dimension, having blindfolded the majority of the poor with his ill-gotten wealth during the "rigging exercise", still refused to be clean. 2003 will show the strength of the real people. Ogboru will win.
